St. Oliver Plunkett

In 1679 Oliver Plunkett, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of all Ireland was accused of conspiring against the state and supporting the rebellion. He was arrested and imprisoned at Newgate in London. He was found guilty of high treason and executed on 1 July 1681.

The last Catholic to die for his faith at Tyburn, Oliver Plunkett was canonized in 1975.
